London Borough of Merton Plans to withdraw Discretionary Freedom Passes for People with Mental Health Needs in Merton - October 2012
Merton CIL feels that withdrawing discretionary passes from people with mental health needs is not in line with the council’s preventative approach in social care. We also feel that passes were an important way to help keep people mobile, engaged in their communities and reduce isolation. Merton CIL strongly recommends against withdrawing these passes.
A formal response to the proposal was sent to the Cllr Suzanne Evans of the Scrutiny Panel by Merton Platform in November and we are waiting for an outcome. You can read Merton Platform’s letter here LETTER TO SCRUTINY PANEL DISCRETIONARY FREEDOM PASSES NOVEMBER 2012
