Merton CIL is seeking to recruit two highly motivated Deaf or Disabled people to the following posts in our busy Advice & Advocacy Team: Caseworker & Trainee Caseworker 

 

Merton CIL is a Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation (DDPO) which promotes the independence and inclusion of Deaf and Disabled people, challenges discrimination and works to achieve change locally.

 

We are seeking to recruit two highly motivated Deaf or Disabled people to the following posts in our busy Advice & Advocacy Team:

 

Caseworker (Welfare Benefits and Low Income)

35 hours per week fixed-term contract until 31 March 2021 (with the possibility of extension) at a starting salary of £25,000.00 per annum.

You must have at least one year’s experience of providing welfare benefits advice to members of the public on a one-to-one basis. This can be on a paid or voluntary basis. You will be expected to have an excellent working knowledge of all health and disability benefits.

Trainee Caseworker (Community Care and Personal Independence Payment)

28 hours per week fixed-term contract until 31 March 2022 at a starting salary of £19,565.00 per annum pro rata, with the potential for increase to £24,000 per annum pro rata.

Previous experience of advice or advocacy is not essential. What is essential is that you are passionate about the rights of Deaf and Disabled people and are willing to learn and develop your skills, knowledge and practice.
