Volunteering at Merton CIL 

At Merton Centre for Independent Living, we provide free training and volunteering opportunities for Disabled People living within Merton. As an organisation run by and for disabled people, we need volunteers to provide support in a number of areas. Our volunteering service is managed by Richard Downes.

 

How do I become a volunteer?

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Merton CIL, please get in touch with Richard via telephone 020 3397 3119 or email info@mertoncil.org.uk to arrange an informal chat to discuss opportunities and training.

 

What does the training programme consist of and is it free?

Our current training package is free and includes: Disability Equality, 12 Pillars of Independent Living, Disability History and Activism. We also provide monthly volunteer skills set training meetings in Safeguarding, Listening, Confidentiality, Note Taking, Using the Phone/Database and much more. There is also more specialised training provide by an advisor in information and guidance.
