Craftivism & Chat - Exploring Race & Disability

Thursday 06 March 2025
10:30 to 12:30

Join us at Craftivism & Chat where we will use art and conversation to explore how some people in the Disabled community experience discrimination differently due to race or ethnicity.

If you are a Disabled person from the Black, Asian or Global Majority communities living in Merton or just a supporter of anti-racism work, we would love you to come along and share your lived experiences, views and ideas!

We are keen for the diverse experiences of our members to help shape our anti-racism work going forward.

We will be experimenting with materials (paints, textiles, pens) and mediums (collaging, weaving, crochet) during the session and will work to create a collaborative piece of art that highlights our experiences.

If you do not want to get involved in the craftivism you are still welcome to join for a chat.

There will also be free refreshments available.

Please RSVP by emailiing us at info@mertoncil.org.uk / call us on 0203 397 3119

Let us know if you have any access needs or dietary requirements when you RSVP.

If you are unable to attend but would like to share your views, you can take our short survey here or you can email / call on the details above and we can arrange a time to call you.
