Happy Birthday Merton CIL! Local charity celebrates its 10th anniversary
This year sees Merton Centre for Independent Living (Merton CIL) celebrate its 10th birthday! Over the past 10 years, Merton CIL has grown into a vibrant local organisation, promoting the inclusion and independence of local Deaf and Disabled People.
Merton CIL’s 10th anniversary will be celebrated at their annual My Voice Matters event. It will be held on 5th July 2018 at The Everyday Church in Wimbledon from 11am to 1.30pm. Everyone is welcome and it is all free. There will be fun activities, lunch and an exclusive screening of Merton CIL’s new film.
Disabled people are often excluded due to lack of adequate facilities at events. MobiLoo and its vehicle for change will be at My Voice Matters. MobiLoo’s mission is to make every event accessible to everyone with their mobile toilet service with hoist and changing bench. British Sign Language interpreters will also be available at the event.
Merton CIL are proud of their record supporting local Deaf and Disabled people. Last year alone they provided over 1,248 session of support to local people as well as providing free events and activities. In honour of their tenth anniversary, Merton CIL aim to raise £10,000 to help carry on the great work and support even more Deaf and Disabled People.
Merton CIL know that not everyone can afford to make a cash donation, so they encourage people to support them in other ways like joining as a member or helping spread the word about their work. You can find out more about getting involved on their website www.mertoncil.org.uk
Merton CIL would love to see you at their party, please RSVP on this link so that they get enough cake for everyone! https://bit.ly/2IT7bG3
