We want a society where Deaf and Disabled people can take control over their lives and achieve full participation. Our policy and campaigns work aims to achieve this through working with local Deaf and Disabled people to ensure our voices are heard in decision making processes that affect our lives. We also work hard to ensure that our members see their lived experience as valuable expertise in the push for a more equitable society.
Our social policy work falls under our strategic aim to identify and challenge discrimination. Our current objectives are:
1. Increase our social policy work around adult social care to improve policies and processes.

2. Increase our social policy work around housing and push for more accessible homes.

3. Identify key issues around access to quality health care and services for local Disabled people and put these issues on the agenda of the local NHS.

4. Improve our understanding of intersectionality and use findings to inform service improvements and ensure that a wide range of Disabled voices and experiences are amplified.
